Missouri DIP eligibility starts with your ticket and the court handling it. Before buying a Driver Improvement Program course, find out whether the court will authorize it for your case. State approval of a course and permission to use it for your ticket are separate questions.

Already have permission? Comedy Safe Driver offers an eight-hour online Missouri DIP with comedy videos and audio for $24.95. Our approved provider number is OL029.

Start with the court named on your citation

Have your citation or case number ready when you contact the court. Explain that you want to ask about completing an approved Driver Improvement Program in connection with your traffic case. The clerk can explain the process for making that request; the court decides the outcome.

Missouri DIP eligibility rules to check

Under Missouri Revised Statutes §302.302.5, DIP in lieu of points requires a court order and verification for qualifying violations. The statute limits this use to once in a 36-month period and requires completion within 60 days of conviction.

The statutory exclusion covers commercial-motor-vehicle violations and individuals who have been issued, or are required to obtain, a CDL. Motorcycle violations use an approved motorcycle-rider training course. Discuss your circumstances with the court before choosing a course.

Does completing DIP automatically dismiss a ticket?

No. Do not treat a course purchase or certificate as proof that a case is dismissed. Ask the court to explain the result it has authorized and any remaining obligations. Keep copies of the court’s instructions, course-completion paperwork, and submission confirmation together.

Can I take the course online?

Missouri’s DIP statute provides an online or in-person course option. Confirm the approved program and the instructions for your case before enrolling. Our course lets you complete the eight-hour program online and return after breaks with your progress saved.

What if I have already paid the ticket?

Contact the court with your case number and ask about the status of your case and any available DIP procedure. Do not assume that paying a ticket enrolls you in DIP or that taking a course afterward will change the result. If you need advice about a plea or legal options, consult an attorney.

What if I only want an insurance discount?

Ask your insurer whether it accepts this course for your policy and what proof it needs. An insurance discount is separate from court-authorized use of DIP; the insurer determines whether a discount is available.

A practical Missouri DIP eligibility checklist

Before registering, put the answers to your Missouri DIP eligibility questions in writing alongside your case paperwork. Record who you contacted, the date, the course you discussed, and any instructions you received. Keep the court name and citation number handy whenever you ask a follow-up question. If your instructions mention a different course or program, clarify that difference before purchasing. Your location alone does not establish what your particular case requires.

What happens after you confirm permission?

After confirming Missouri DIP eligibility for your case, review the course details and choose a schedule that leaves time for all eight hours and the required paperwork. Comedy Safe Driver offers the Missouri online program for $24.95 with comedy videos and audio. Use the registration button on this page when you are ready. Keep your account details so you can return to the course after a break. Before submitting completion paperwork, review your identifying information and follow the recipient and deadline instructions supplied for your case. Save your certificate and any submission confirmation for your records.
