Looking for an online St. Louis defensive driving course after a traffic ticket? Missouri calls its approved course the Driver Improvement Program (DIP). Start by identifying the court handling your case. St. Louis City and St. Louis County are not interchangeable, and a mailing address that says “St. Louis” does not tell you which court has your ticket.
Comedy Safe Driver offers an eight-hour online Missouri DIP for $24.95, with comedy videos and audio. Our Missouri provider number is OL029. Get court permission to use DIP for your ticket before enrolling.
St. Louis City or St. Louis County: check your citation
The City of St. Louis Municipal Court states that it does not handle cases pending outside the City, including St. Louis County cases. Use the court name and case number on your citation or notice, rather than selecting a court based only on where you live.
- City Municipal Court case: use the official City court website for case-search tools and contact information.
- St. Louis County or another municipality: use the court named on your paperwork. The City website points people with outside cases to Missouri Case.net.
- Uncertain which court handles it: start with the citation and Missouri Case.net, then confirm with the court before submitting documents.
Official resources for St. Louis drivers
St. Louis City Municipal Court provides case-search, court-date, payment, and defendant resources. Its published phone number is 314-622-3231. Use that office for City Municipal Court matters, not as a substitute for contacting a different court listed on your ticket.
For cases outside the City, use Missouri Case.net and the contact instructions on your notice. Check current official information before visiting a courthouse or sending a certificate.
Ask about DIP before choosing a traffic school
Tell the court that you want to request a Driver Improvement Program for your ticket. Ask how to obtain permission, what result is available, and what deadlines and submission instructions apply. If you already have a DIP order, read it before registering.
Keep this checklist next to your case paperwork:
- Court name and case or citation number
- Permission or order authorizing DIP
- Confirmation of the course and format you should use
- Course-completion deadline and paperwork deadline
- Certificate recipient, submission method, and receipt confirmation
Online St. Louis defensive driving course
Our course is delivered online, so this is not a listing for a St. Louis classroom location. You can use a phone, tablet, or computer and return to the lessons after a break. Review the full course details and registration information on our Missouri course page.
Does a St. Louis ticket automatically qualify?
No. Course approval does not determine the outcome of an individual case. Read our Missouri DIP eligibility guide and obtain instructions from the court handling your ticket. Your court’s instructions will identify the requirements for your case.
Will the course remove existing points?
Do not assume a course will erase your driving history. Read how Missouri ticket points and DIP differ and ask your court what completion will do in your case.
